The opening day of the Henley Royal Regatta last year was the hottest day of the English summer. This year, on Wednesday 29th June, it bucketed down. That didn't get in the way of a very enjoyable day for a few ODs and their wives, friends and partners who enjoyed very convivial drinks before lunch, during lunch and after lunch - all in the historic Leander Club - before being introduced to a separate but as enjoyable after-party for the Trinity Hall (Cantab) Rowing Club.
ODs present were Nick Heesom (W, 1961) and his wife Wendy, Richard Montgomery (G, 1976) and his wife Joy (former Bishops rowing coach) and friend Jenny, Martin Calder (B, 1991) and his partner Angela and Nicky Bicket (F, 1973). The whole day was wonderfully arranged by Rob Johnston (G, 2010) who is a member of the Leander.
